So what exactly do you do?
I’ve been doing independent and freelance fashion design (mostly for private clients) since 2008, and started doing studies on footwear design in 2014 as a specialised field in fashion. However, I also enjoy a lot of other things, especially travelling, so even though my main focus is design, I try to blend in blogging, writing and travelling into it as part of the design process.
What do you study?
I’m in my third year of full-time studying a BA in Footwear Design at the London College of Fashion – currently living in Italy for an internship.
Do you have a blog/website exclusively for your designs?
I do, but it is under construction currently, it will be up and running in 2017.
Can you design something custom for me?
It depends on what you’re looking for and wether you are able to travel to my location or not. All my freelance designs are bespoke and I need specific measures – not sizes, as these are commercial and don’t fit everyone the same – to make sure the fit is perfect. Send me an email through the “Contact Me” form and let me know me what you have in mind!
What do you blog about?
In a nutshell: women’s fashion, footwear, fashion design, travel – mostly around europe-, cruelty-free beauty and cosmetics, animal friendly fashion and food and some lifestyle posts here and there.
How do you manage to be a full-time student, travel regularly and blog consistently?
Sleep very little, have coffee always at hand, take my work with me on my trips to do on the train/airplane, write down every bit of inspiration that pops into my mind to write ASAP, a reliable daily planner and an airtight schedule.
Who’s your favourite designer?
Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen.
Favourite beauty product?
Lush‘s fresh face masks.
Go-to makeup products?
Clean face + mascara or a black kohl pencil (or both).
When did you become a vegetarian?
During the summer of 2010, when I was 16.
Why did you do it?
Same reason as I stopped using cosmetics tested on animals; I like animals and I don’t believe that they are products for people to take advantage of. They have feelings and can experience pain just as much as you and I.
Any tips for newbie vegetarians?
Keep going! It’s a matter of habit to not eat meat, find veg-friendly substitutes for animal products that you feel you can’t quit and you’ll get there eventually.
What countries have you travelled to?
I’ve travelled to Spain, France, Portugal, the UK, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, USA and Brazil. You can see a map of all the specific cities here.
What is your favourite visited place?
Prague, Czech Republic. This is probably the most beautiful city I have ever been to.
Where is your dream destination?
Thailand. All of it.
Where are you based?
As for now I’m living in Venice, Italy, where I’m interning as a footwear designer. Normally I live in London (UK), but I travel back and forth to Spain on a regular basis.
How often do you travel?
I try to get away from work/uni at least twice a month, mostly for short weekend breaks as I don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands, but I do take at least two big trips during the year.
What is your ethnicity?
Mixed: half Spanish and half Brazilian.
Can you speak any languages other than English?
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and currently working on French, German and Swedish.
Who built your blog?
My blog is hosted on wordpress and I use the Venture theme, by Pipdig. However, the design and most of the basic coding on widgets and plugins I did myself. With a lot of patience.
